> Welcome to hackMaster

Welcome to hackMaster, a conference-wide scavenger hunt inspired by the spirit and creativity of the TV show Taskmaster. Designed to encourage collaboration, competition, and chaos, hackMaster challenges participants to complete a series of unique tasks throughout the event.

Players will work through a collection of challenges, submitting evidence of their completed tasks through a dedicated website. Submissions will be judged based on successful completion, creativity, and adherence to the rules of the game.

> Prizes

To reward the ingenuity and determination of participants, prizes will be awarded to the first three competitors to successfully complete the most challenges. In addition, a special runner-up prize will be presented for the most outstanding or creative submission. The aim of hackMaster is to have fun, be creative, and embrace a little friendly competition.

> General Rules

To ensure that everyone has an enjoyable and fair experience, all participants are expected to follow the rules below. These rules are mandatory and apply to all players.

Failure to comply with these rules, the event's Code of Conduct, or the instructions of the judges may result in penalties, the rejection of submissions, or disqualification from the competition.

> Rule List

  • All tasks and challenges must be completed by individuals who are attending Hack Glasgow in person. Remote participation is not permitted.

  • Participants are responsible for their own actions and behaviour throughout the competition.
  • All participants must comply with the conference's Code of Conduct and all applicable laws and venue rules.
  • Every task or challenge requires some form of evidence or proof of completion. Unless otherwise specified, proof will usually take the form of a physical object, photograph, video, or another form of verifiable evidence acceptable to the judges.
  • All entries and their accompanying evidence must be checked in with the judges before [time to be confirmed].
  • Participants may check in submissions multiple times throughout the day and are strongly encouraged to do so.
  • If a participant is unable to have their submissions checked before the deadline due to arriving late or waiting until the final moments of the event, those submissions may not be accepted.
  • The judges can be found at [location to be confirmed].
  • The judges' decisions are final. The judges may not always be fair or reasonable, but they are always right.
  • The use of artificial intelligence tools to generate submissions, complete challenges, or otherwise gain an advantage in the competition is prohibited.
  • This competition exists to celebrate human creativity, ingenuity, and problem solving. There is no such thing as an AI-generated lunch.
